I've tried a few "solutions" already - (1) connecting to different USB ports; (2) turning off USB Selective Suspend; and (3) Disabling "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" I tried "Disabling USB Legacy Support in Bios" but when I clicked on the hard drive in Device Manager, there was no "Policy" tab in which to do this. I first noticed my keyboard was disconnecting then reconnecting (sometime immediately, sometimes after a few seconds) last night, but now I have notice that my mouse does the same thing. I have tried using every usb port on my mobo, but the issue persists. Everything worked fine until last night. If a touch the USB Drive, it disconnects and if I touch it again, it'll reconnect. This is not a Windows or OS issue, is a port/connector issue. I think some of the peripheral cables have a somewhat smaller or thinner enclosure that does not allow the connection to be firm. laptop usb port keeps disconnecting
